Giving by doing – Gabriella goes to Ghana
Hello!
My name is Gabriella Sporring and I’m 19 years old. I live in Sweden and I’m in my finishing year in high school. This last year in school we are required to do a project related to humans in some way. That’s why I chose for my school project to offer myself as a voluntary worker at an orphanage in Ghana (Africa) for three weeks, beginning next year.
Reasons to donate: There are a lot of orphan children in the world and we can’t help all of them. In a small way I want to make a difference for some of them by going to Ghana and be a helper at an orphanage. So you can help to make this possible by donating to my project!
To make this project possible I need 2800 dollar. This amount of money covers travel from Sweden to Ghana and home by airplane, visa, food every day, a place to live in (probably in a Ghanaian family), a place to volunteer in, two different insurances, information, transport to the project and back, someone who picks me up at the airport and a contact person 24/h.
I plan to keep a diary of the days in Ghana, during my stay at the orphanage. When I am back in Sweden I’m going to update this diary on my blog and by that I hope to inspire others to be engaging in charity and volunteering.
I am passionate about children and children’s rights! To volunteer has been one of my biggest dreams for a long time and when I got the information about this school project I knew from the start that this is IT, this is what I want to do!
Other way’s to help: If you don’t have the money to donate to my project you can help me by spreading the word! Post a link to my project on Facebook, Twitter and so on.
Talk to you soon,
Gabriella
